Continuing the Shaudrey Universe series is Spirit’s Lullaby, the second book of the series. The story is set five years after the first book, Fire’s Song and it continues the story of Tella whom we met for the first time in Fire’s Song as a precocious teenager. Tella is grown now, and is partnering with Lydia in slaying demons. The voice of Tella is quite distinct from that of Key and the author must be applauded for bringing distinctive voices to each of these protagonists. Tella is also characterised by the same independent, questioning spirit that Key had, and her humour is less subtle. Again, we have angels and demons and other magical creatures.
